Saint Joseph's orthopaedics program

Miller
As one of the premier adult orthopedic programs in the southeast, Saint Joseph Hospital is actively engaged in all aspects of the continuum of care. From the initial visit at the physician’s office to discuss a hip or knee replacement, to the hospital setting itself, every phase of the patient’s orthopedic experience is focused on achieving a successful outcome and a quick recovery. All those who require orthopaedic care, whether routine or a more serious matter, can be assured, due to the high volume of procedures performed at Saint Joseph’s, of receiving the best quality treatment.

While much of the work we currently do includes joint replacements including hip, knee and shoulder and spine procedures, our surgeons are on the cutting-edge of developing and implementing new techniques  to improve the practice of muscular-skeletal medicine including cartilage transplantation, total disc replacement and kyphoplasty. Some remarkable advancements in orthopaedic care have transpired in the last five to 10 years including treatments that allow the surgeon to preserve more bone. For example, a knee prosthesis that was not available two years ago was developed, in part, by Saint Joseph’s physicians. Saint Joseph’s orthopaedists are also involved in clinical trials and research, such as autologous chrondrocyte implantation (ACI) to repair knee cartilege.

Consistently ranked in the top 50 US orthopoedic hospitals, Saint Joseph’s was also rated as the best in Georgia for orthopaedic services, and has been ranked among the top 100 hospitals nationwide by the country’s largest health care information company. To achieve these consistently high rankings takes world-class surgeons with the volumes and expertise to support the needs of the orthopedic program. The field of orthopaedics has become considerably more specialized in the last 10 years, Saint Joseph’s stands alone in its exceptionally broad range of those specialists and subspecialists.

Providing the complete package, Saint Joseph’s blends modern technology with compassionate care to provide the latest in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for orthopaedic patients. Saint Joseph’s specialists deliver treatments that are innovative, lifesaving and, in many instances, unavailable anywhere else in the region.
