About the Institute
Saint Joseph's is known throughout the region as a center of excellence for cardiovascular services and is nationally recognized for its high quality of care. Saint Joseph's has the 12th largest cardiac program of its kind in the country and performs approximately 1,500 open-heart surgeries per year and 10,000 cardiac catheterization procedures a year. These statistics place Saint Joseph's in the top 10 hospitals in the United States.
Saint Joseph's in the Top 100
For the sixth year, Saint Joseph's Hospital was named in Modern Healthcare as one of the nation’s Top 100 Hospitals for performing angioplasty and heart bypass surgery as well as caring for patients with acute heart attacks and congestive heart failure. The list, published in October 2005, is based on Cardiovascular Benchmarks of Success, a study by Solucient, the nation’s largest health-care database.
Premium Cardiac Specialty Center
Saint Joseph’s was designated a Premium Cardiac Specialty Center as part of UnitedHealth Group’s new Premium Network. The Premium Network recognizes hospitals and affiliated physician-led teams that have demonstrated quality and cost-efficient health care for a range of complex health problems.
