Workers Involved in New Growth (WINGS)

Workers Involved in New Growth for Saint Joseph’s (WINGS) is the volunteer fundraising arm of Saint Joseph’s Mercy Foundation. Originally founded in 1989 as a free standing committee of Saint Joseph’s Auxiliary, in 1992 WINGS established itself as part of Saint Joseph’s Mercy Foundation with its own by-laws. Represented by more than 100 dedicated individuals, WINGS’ personal commitment is powerful. Through elected leadership, using their time, talents and resources, WINGS' members produce a variety of special events to assist Saint Joseph’s in its philanthropic development. Since 1990, WINGS has raised more than $3 million for Mercy Care Services.

WINGS members are ambassadors to the community, as they heighten the awareness of Saint Joseph’s and its work. Serving not only as volunteer fundraisers, many members devote countless hours with Mercy Care Services, assisting the poor and homeless at the Atlanta Women’s Day Shelter, among others. In addition to the fundraising events, WINGS' members support the hospital staff with cookie gift baskets for Appreciation Day and gather coats, winter clothing and toiletry items to support the homeless outreach mission of Mercy Care Services. These projects continue to exemplify WINGS dedication to assist Saint Joseph’s in its philanthropic development.

WINGS Mission
WINGS members are volunteers who support the healing ministry of the Sisters of Mercy in Atlanta and the charitable activities of Saint Joseph's through fundraising events and volunteer activities.
