Saint Joseph's Oncology Data Registry
For nearly 30 years, Saint Joseph's Oncology
Data Registry has maintained vital cancer information.
The cancer data registry is the linchpin in evaluating
all aspects of staging, treatment and follow-up
care provided by a cancer program. Review of mobidity
and mortality of each disease site by stage, age,
sex and treatments are a critical process of any
quality program. Saint Joseph's has had a
mandatory reporting of all cancers diagnosed and
treated at the hospital for more than 40 years.
More than 20,000 patients are entered into the
database, with annual follow-up of more than 9,000
cases. Individual patient information remains
strictly confidential.
The registry provides statistical data for medical
staff, administration and oncology research. Lifetime
follow-up is conducted on all patients diagnosed
and/or treated at Saint Joseph's.
Saint Joseph's has been certified by the
American
College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS,CoC)
for more than 20 years, most recently in 2006.
Saint Joseph's is one of Georgia’s contributing
hospitals to the Surveillance,
Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) program
of the Federal Department of Health and Human
Services (DHHS) branch.
