- CanScreen exam - two-hour
appointment includes cancer risk assessment
(education about and discussion of personal
and family risk factors), screening physical
with CBC, Urinalysis, Hemoccult test, and PSA
or Pap smear - $100 (see below for more information)
- Skin cancer screening -
education about and discussion of risk factors,
head-to–toe skin examination - $20 (also
available for churches and businesses onsite)
- Prostate cancer screening -
education about and discussion of risk factors,
digital rectal exam and PSA blood test for men
over 50 - $20 (also available for churches,
businesses at their site)
- Breast cancer screening -
education about and discussion of risk factors,
education/ demonstration of Breast Self Exam
for women over 21 - $20 (also available for
churches, businesses at their site)
- Genetic Counseling and Testing -
education about and discussion of risk factors,
family history and pedigree development for
Breast. Ovarian, Colon and Melanoma - fee
varies depending on testing and time
- CT Lung Cancer Screenings - Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related
deaths for men and women in the United States.
Often with no symptoms, most lung cancer is
discovered after it is well advanced. Saint
Joseph’s Hospital now offers spiral
slice CT scans to detect early stage lung
cancer. The scan is quick, painless
and requires no contrast dyes. The
cost is $325.00 cash, check, credit card (not

Saint Joseph's is the first hospital
in Georgia to provide CanScreen, one of the nation's
premier comprehensive cancer screening and early
detection programs.
- Conducted by an oncology nurse clinician,
Canscreen combines a screening examination with
a personal health history to define an individual’s
risks and provide a unique plan of care.
Following assessment, patients are taught prevention
techniques.
- PSA and DRE available for men.
- Pelvic exam and Pap test available for women.
- Also available: hemoglobin, hemoccult
and urine check.
- Offered at Saint Joseph’s Centre for
Cancer Care and Research.
- Available upon request in community and in
corporate settings. Off-site exams include
breast, prostate and skin cancer screenings.
Results are given to the individual.
- CanScreen can assist with physician referrals
to Saint Joseph’s.
