Diagnostic breast care program
More than 60 percent of women diagnosed with breast
cancer have no family history of the disease
- or any other identifiable risk factor. Today,
one in eight women will develop the disease.
Early detection can be a lifesaver-- early detection
often means a more than 90 percent chance of cure.
Mammography, physician visit annually and monthly
breast self-exams are a woman’s best chances
for early detection.
Managed by a nurse oncologist, the breast care
resource program supports women at all stages
of breast disease: screening, diagnosis, treatment,
recurrence, follow-up and survivorship.
Family and friends are welcome as an integral
part of the program. A breast cancer support group
is available through Saint Joseph’s Cancer
Survivors Network.
